Singer Selena Gomez says she is now healthy and in a great place after going through chemotherapy.
The "Same old love" hitmaker, who was suffering from lupus, an autoimmune disease, three years ago, opened up about it earlier this year. She says that she wanted to keep the news private, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
"It happened three years ago... That's when I found it and I think it was just very complicated because I didn't understand and then it was something that I did want to keep private until my whole life suddenly wasn't private," Billboard magazine quoted Gomez as saying.
Talking about the response and support by people around, she said: "It has been overwhelming and the response has been very supportive, which is nice - but it still makes me a little uncomfortable."
"I waited for the right time to talk about it because I am in a great place and I'm very healthy. I'm not trying to be loud about it. It was time to use my platform to help," the 23-year-old added.
