Selfies and the art of snapping them is surely going places with universities deciding to start study courses around them.
An Indiana University Northwest communications professor has decided to explore selfies in a 400-level class.
Eve Bottando said students would discuss research being done on selfies as well as the questions the pictures raise about our society, 6abc.com reported.
Students who have registered for that selfie course are excited to learn more about the popularity of selfies.
The University of Southern California has also introduced a course in Selfie, describing the selfie as a "cultural artefact".
The #SelfieClass will allow students to critically analyse "society's influence on self-identity, and how selfies reflect and affect the global culture in which we live".
University of Southern California, writing professor Mark C. Marino is teaching a course titled '#SelfieClass'.
A similar class is also available at University of California-Los Angeles. In the Digital Humanities department, Miriam Posner teaches a course called 'Selfies, Snapchat, and CyberBullies: Coming of Age Online'.
