Sensex, Nifty close flat

The sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday closed flat at 41.77 points, or 0.15 percent down.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also closed 8 points or 0.10 percent down at 8,365.65 points, as per provisional figures.

The 30-scrip Sensex, which opened at 27,663.08 points, closed at 27,645.53 points (provisional) -- down 41.77 points, or 0.15 percent, over the previous day's close at 27,687.30 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 27,872.23 points and a low of 27,574.07 points during the day.
