Spanish football club Sevilla President Jose Castro said on Tuesday that he expects forward Victor Machin to renew his contract with the club as soon as possible.
Castro stated that it is logical that the extension of the Spanish forward will be inked, as there are documents signed by the player's agent and father showing that Vitolo accepted the renewal, reports Efe.
"The agreement with the player is on paper," Castro tweeted on Tuesday on Sevilla's official account.
The president made his remarks on a possible offer from Atletico Madrid to sign the Spaniard upon payment of his current release clause, about 36 million euros ($41 million).
Castro stressed that Sevilla reached a written agreement on Monday with Vitolo's agent, which stipulates the acceptance of the extension period and value, among others.
The documents show that Vitolo agreed to extend his contract with Sevilla until 2022, in addition to increasing the release clause to 50 million euros ($56.9 million).
This agreement only needs to be signed by the Spanish forward, according to Castro.
