In a second meeting in four days, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Army chief General Raheel Sharif on Friday discussed the necessary steps for the security of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Project (CPEC).
According to Samaa TV, the two discussed internal and external security matters, especially ensuring security of the CPEC.
Sources said the prime minister and the army chief agreed that no stone would be left unturned to foil evil designs against the economic route.
According to sources, Nawaz Sharif was briefed that military's especial security division has started working to protect the CPEC route.
In the meeting, the prime minister and army chief also exchanged views over the ongoing Zarb-e-Azb anti-terror operation and crackdown against criminals and militant groups in Karachi and other cities.
Earlier, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan called on Nawaz Sharif and discussed with him the overall security situation of the country.
