Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit wants the upmarket Jor Bagh to be the greenest colony in the national capital.
"Jor Bagh is a clean colony. But it must be developed as the greenest colony of the city," said Dikshit Tuesday during a plantation drive at the colony's Elders' Park.
Around 150 school children joined her in planting saplings at the park.
"The park is already green though it needs to be developed as a green canopy to function as lungs of the colony," she added.
Dikshit said there was a need to protect the planted saplings so that they may grow into full-fledged trees.
