India's rifle troika of Olympic bronze medallist Gagan Narang, Chain Singh and Sanjeev Rajput, who survived their respective elimination rounds on Tuesday, failed to make it to the 50m Rifle 3 Positions finals on Wednesday at the shooting World Cup (Rifle/Pistol) here.
The closest to the final berth was Chain Singh, who could not make it to the qualification round, giving way to Russian Nazar Loginets by just a single point. Chain managed to score 1,173 while Narang finished 33rd with a total of 1,162 and Rajput finished 47th, scoring 1,155.
This marks the end of India's campaign at the World Cup from where Indian shooters return with two bronzes from Apurvi Chandela and Jitu Rai. Apurvi's bronze also earned her an Olympic berth and India its second Games quota.
The focus now shifts to the Shotgun World Cup at Larnaca, Cyprus, slated from April 24 to May 4.
