India and China Tuesday ended the fourth Joint Training Exercise Hand-in-Hand 2014 here, with both armies showing their commitment to defeat terrorism in all its forms.

The 12 days of training culminated after a tactical exercise and a closing ceremony at the Aundh military camp, an official statement said.

The training included understanding of transnational terrorism, developing interoperability and conduct of a joint tactical operation controlled by a Joint Command Post, it said.

Lt Gen Ashok Singh, commander of the Indian Army's Southern Command, and Lt Gen Zhou Xiaozhou, Chief of Staff of Chengdu Military Command of the People's Liberation Army, witnessed the exercise Tuesday.

"The exercise involved insertion of troops by slithering from helicopters and destroying a terrorist hideout.

"It demonstrated the commitment of both armies in working closely with each other to eradicate the menace of terrorism in all its forms," said the statement.
