Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday reiterated his demand that Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung should axe a panel he set up to probe some of the AAP government's decisions.

Sisodia also asked Jung to return the files "impounded" by his office to the concerned departments.

"Failure to do so would cause unlawful obstruction in discharge of the constitutional obligations of the Delhi government," he stated in a letter to Jung.

Sisodia last week called the three-member committee headed by former Comptroller and Auditor General V.K. Shunglu "unconstitutional" and said that there was no provision in the Constitution for such a committee.

Jung set up the three-member committee to study alleged irregularities of the Aam Aadmi Party government following an August 4 Delhi High Court ruling giving primacy to the Lt. Governor in Delhi's administration.

In his letter, the Deputy Chief Minister urged Jung to "observe and respect the division of powers".

Sisodia added that a dangerous precedent is being set by Lt. Governor's office by unsettling the decisions taken by the government long after they had been implemented.

Last week, the Delhi cabinet, at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, advised Jung to dissolve the Shunglu Committee.

Jung hit back, saying the Delhi cabinet's appeal was an attempt to divert attention from "grave misdemeanours".

"The truth must come out and it must be put in public domain," he said.
