Jammu and Kashmir police said Monday that a special investigating team (SIT) has been constituted to probe the alleged sexual exploitation of four minor girls by a fake "soul healer" in central Kashmir's Badgam district.
A police officer told IANS that the SIT would probe the sexual exploitation of the minor girls by Gulzar Ahmed Bhat, who headed an institute where the girls studied.
Meanwhile, a court extended Bhat's police remand till June 1.
One more victim recorded her statement before the court Monday.
The fake "soul healer" was arrested last week after a complaint was filed against him by the four minor girls.
Police sources said that Bhat had been running a sex racket wherein he would supply girls from his institute for sexual exploitation to other people.
