Small passenger plane with 10 missing in Indonesia

A small passenger plane with 10 people on board lost contact near Sulawesi island in eastern Indonesia on Friday, an official said.

The twin-engine Otter DHC-6 plane lost contact with air controllers en route from Masamba to Makassar in South Sulawesi province, transport ministry spokesman Julius Arivada Barata told Xinhua news agency.

The people on board were the pilot, two technicians and seven passengers.

The aircraft is operated by Aviastar, Indonesia's domestic passenger airline.
