Smog will persist in China from Sunday to Monday morning, as the meteorological centre renewed its yellow alert.
Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Shaanxi, Anhui, Jiangsu, Hunan, Heilongjiang, Liaoning and Sichuan areas will experience smog from Sunday to Monday morning, Xinhua cited the National Meteorological Centre (NMC) as saying.
Smog will be particularly heavy in parts of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Henan, Shandong, Shaanxi and Liaoning, it said.
Public has been warned to take protective measures while engaging in outdoor activities and those having respiratory diseases have been advised to stay indoors.
China has a four-tier colour-coded weather warning system, with red representing the most severe weather, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
