Actor Rob Lowe, who is married to Sheryl Berkoff, says he had to sober up so he could stop cheating on his wife.
In an interview with Haute Living magazine, Lowe, known for his films "The Outsiders" and "Oxford Blues", admitted how sobriety helped his relationship, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
"I had met my now wife, Sheryl, and was attempting my first try at monogamy, which was not really in my nature at the time, and I wasn't able to do it," the actor said.
"It made me examine how I was living," he added.
Lowe suffered from alcohol and sex addictions, both of which led to him entering rehab in the late 1990s. In 1991, Lowe and Berkoff got married and have two sons together.
He also published his autobiography, "Stories I Only Tell My Friends".
