South Sudan direct talks set for Sunday

South Sudan's warring parties are set to hold their direct talks Sunday, Xinhua quoted the Ethiopian foreign ministry as sayying in a statement.

The direct talks were set to start at 3 p.m. in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa after consultations held Saturday, the ministry added.

The face-to-face talks between the rival sides in South Sudan were expected Saturday, but failed to take place due to absence of an agenda, an official of the east African bloc Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) said.
