Aligarh district in-charge of the Samajwadi Party Ashok Yadav, in a letter to the Election Commission, on Monday urged it to ask Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh not to indulge in political activities and leave Aligarh.
In the letter, addressed to Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi, Yadav said Kalyan Singh has been camping in Aligarh for the past four days and "indulging in political activities, which is not proper".
"I have written a letter to the Election Commission. Kalyan Singh is the Governor of Rajasthan and it's not proper for him to campaign for the BJP," the Samajwadi Party leader told IANS.
"He (Kalyan Singh) should either be a Governor or a BJP leader. If he wants to participate in electioneering, he should quit his post first," he said.
