Sri Lanka called up uncapped 23-year-old pacer Vishwa Fernando into their 16-member squad on Friday for the three-Test series at home against India.
Fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera has also been selected, subject to his recovering fully from a side strain he suffered during the series against Pakistan last month, a statement from Sri Lanka Cricket said on Friday.
Injured pacer Suranga Lakmal and batsman Kithuruwan Vithanage were left out of the squad that played against Pakistan.
The first Test begins at Galle on August 12.
