The two policemen killed by militants in this Jammu and Kashmir summer capital on Monday were unarmed and regulating traffic when they were attacked.
"The two policemen were unarmed and regulating traffic during the peak hour when they were attacked by motorcycle-borne assailants", a senior police officer said here.
An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) and a constable were killed near the mills in Zadibal area of old city Srinagar on Monday morning.
Local police has been assigned the duties of assisting the traffic police to regulate traffic in Srinagar during rush hour and this has helped decongest most of the roads in the city.
