Castries (St. Lucia), July 16 (IANS/CMC) St. Lucia has announced its biggest team ever to take part in this month's XX Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
Levern Spencer, the 2010 women's high jump bronze medallist, will lead a 32-member St. Lucia outfit which also includes the national netball team - signaling this country's first Commonwealth Games participation in a team sport, reports CMC.
Chef de Mission Teddy Matthews says St.Lucia team will compete in athletics, boxing, netball, shooting, swimming and table tennis.
"This is by far St Lucia's biggest team ever to the Commonwealth Games," he told a news conference Tuesday.
In 2010, 13 St. Lucian athletes travelled to New Delhi when Spencer was the only athlete to climb the podium.
