One Direction star Liam Payne, who recently hit headlines amid speculation that he is about to become a father, has asked people to stay in their lane.

The 23-year-old, who is dating singer Cheryl, has taken to Instagram, appearing to beg for privacy with a post to his 11.7 million fans, reports mirror.co.uk.

He shared a photo of a sign post labelled: 'Liam lane,' with another underneath showing the word 'private'.

The young singer warned fans with the caption: "Stay in your lane."

However, it could be that the star was simply sharing lyrics from Twenty One Pilots' track "Lane boy" which include: "They say, 'Stay in your lane, boy, lane boy'."
