Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said on Thursday that steps were being taken to ensure better security in the parliament complex, after a report by a committee on security arrangements.
The committee comprised former home secretary R.K.Singh and retired police officers Satyapal Singh and Harish Meena, who are all members of the Lok Sabha now.
"Security of any institution is a continuous process and there is a need to review and upgrade it from time to time so as to counter the emerging challenges to security and technology," Mahajan said in a statement on Thursday.
"The committee has given valuable suggestions and suitable action will be taken by the agencies concerned after discussion," the speaker said.
The speaker had formed this committee in August last year to look into issues related to the security of the complex.
