Cricket Australia (CA) on Monday named Marcus Stoinis to replace all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, who has been ruled out of the remaining three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) against Pakistan with a shoulder injury.
"Stoinis will play for the Melbourne Stars in their KFC Big Bash match against the Brisbane Heat tomorrow night (Tuesday night) before travelling to Perth on Wednesday with Adam Zampa, who has been released from the squad to play in the same match," CA said in a statement.
Right-armer Stoinis, 27, offers both batting and bowling options for Australia. He has so far played an ODI and a T20I.
According to CA, Marsh has had an ongoing shoulder injury which now requires a period of rest and rehabilitation in order for him to return to full fitness.
