A Class 4 student collapsed and fell unconscious on Monday after an angry teacher flung an object at him that hit him in the groin in a Ghaziabad town. The still-unconscious nine-year-old, whose offence was he had entered the Staff Room when they were resting by mistake, was then thrown in an open field, police said.
The incident occurred in B.K. Major Public School, Mustafabad Loni, a tehsil town of Ghaziabad bordering Delhi.
The police said the student Samir, son of Noor Mohammad, entered the Staff Room during zero hour without permission. At that time the teachers were resting and gossiping. Angered at student's sudden appearance in the room and in a fit of rage, one of the teachers flung an object at him that hit him in the crotch.
As the student collapsed and became unconscious, the teachers called other students and asked them to throw him in the open field opposite the school. The student remained in the field for about half an hour after which he was taken to the local Global Nursing Home by other students. The students made a call to the police which did not act. Doctors said the boy was still unconscious, at the time of filing of this report.
The boy's father, Noor Mohammad, alleged that the school's teachers are violent by nature. His elder son was also beaten by the teachers in the past.
The District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) said the school does not figure in the list of recognized schools in the area.
The manager of the school, Babu Haji, said the school is recognized by the Madarsa Board. Haji said the student was not in school uniform and therefore he could have been punished by the teacher.
Circle Officer of Loni, Durgesh Kumar, said: "The case is in my knowledge. I have asked the SHO Loni to register the case if complaint reaches the police station."
