Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Friday left for South Korea to impress upon the country's companies to invest in the state and accelerate industrial growth.

Accompanied by senior functionaries of the state government, Badal will be meeting officials of various Korean companies, including Samsung Electronics, during the five-day visit, a spokesman said here on Friday.

"The delegation will showcase Punjab as the most suitable investment destination for investment. The ease of doing business and the new innovative fiscal incentives available for new investors will be highlighted," he said.

"The deputy chief minister is scheduled to have hectic parleys with business giants, especially from the field of electronics, dairy, skill training, infrastructure development, transport, smart cities and environment," he said.

Badal last month visited Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic to seek investment.

Samsung Electronics vice president Kyoung Soo Kim had met Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Sukhbir Badal and others in Chandigarh earlier this month and evinced keen interest in biometric technology. He also offered to explore smart city and biometrics project collaboration in the state.
