The national capital experienced a sunny and pleasant Thursday as the maximum temperature settled two notches below the season's average at 18.3 degrees Celsius. The Met office has forecast similar weather Friday.

"There will be light mist in the morning tomorrow (Friday) but the afternoon would be sunny and pleasant," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 18 and 4 degrees Celsius.

Thursday morning was chilly and the minimum temperature settled two notches below the season's average at 5 degrees Celsius. The city was blanketed by light mist early morning as visibility dropped to 500 metres at 8.30 a.m.

While flights operated normally out of Delhi's airports, Northern Railway said 12 trains coming to the capital were delayed due to fog in parts of north India.

Wednesday's maximum temperature was recorded two notches below average at 18.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled three notches above average at 10.4 degrees Celsius.
