India's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will meet opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chief Khaleda Zia Friday.
The BNP chairperson's press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan announced this at a press conference Tuesday night, bdnews24.com reported.
He said the place and time would be announced later.
Swaraj is coming to Dhaka on a three-day official visit Wednesday.
"The BNP wants to maintain a friendly relationship with India. Former (Bangladesh) prime minister Khaleda Zia met Swaraj in October 2013 while visiting India," Khan said.
"The BNP hopes that under the newly elected government in New Delhi, the relations between the two countries will flourish. We hope that the change that happened in India in a democratic election will open new horizons in Bangladesh."
