A Swiss tourist was killed and two other foreigners were injured in an avalanche in Kashmir's Gulmarg ski resort Friday.
A senior police official said the Swiss national, identified as Arno Roy, was killed and two other foreign tourists were injured between Afarwat and Kongdoori heights in the ski resort.
"The tourists had gone up the Afarwat heights in Gulmarg for skiing when an avalanche rolled down the mountain, burying them under it. The Swiss tourist was killed in this accident, while two others were rescued," the official said.
"The two rescued tourists have sustained injuries and were admitted to hospital for treatment," the official added.
Kashmir witnessed the season's heaviest snowfall this week with higher reaches like Gulmarg recording over three feet of accumulated snow on the ground.
