The United Nations Higher Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) has said that lack of funds would make it difficult for the nearly half a million Syrian refugees in Lebanon to endure the winter.
"An estimated half a million Syrian refugees would be in need of basic means of survival to endure the severe cold winter conditions. It is imperative to provide them with adequate means of warmth like proper clothing and blankets to stay alive," Xinhua cited from the UNHCR weekly.
The report further said: "The lack of funding would allow UNHCR to only support 80,000 Syrian families during the winter season."
According to the latest UNHCR report, there are nearly 1.2 million Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
