Taiwan won the gold medal in the men's recurve archery team event at the 2018 Asian Games after defeating South Korea with a score of 5-3 on Monday.
The Taiwanese team, comprising Weimin Luo, Chihchun Tang and Chunheng Wei won in the first set 56-55 to go 2-0 up, reports Xinhua news agency.
They met resistance from the South Koreans in the second and third sets. In the second set, both teams collected 53 points and the score became 3-1. In the third set, South Korea hit top form to win 58-51 and tie the score at 3-3.
In the fourth set, Taiwan regained the momentum and closed the deciding set 56-55 for 5-3 overall.
"We are very pleased with this result and we gave our best," Chunheng said.
China won the bronze medal after beating Mongolia 6-0.
