The makers of Vijay-starrer Tamil actioner "Kaththi" Monday confirmed that the film would be released Wednesday.
Earlier in the day, the release of the film in Tamil Nadu looked uncertain due an "unproven link" between the film's producer Lyca Productions' and Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Tamil fringe groups had demanded the removal of Lyca Productions' name from the banner for smooth release of A.R. Murugadoss-directed "Kaththi" in the state. To which, the makers obliged and an amicable agreement was reached.
"We are happy to announce that all the issues have been solved amicably. 'Kaththi' will release globally as Diwali dhamaka," read a statement from the production house.
Bookings for the film will open in cinemas Tuesday.
"Kaththi" features Samantha Ruth Prabhu as the female lead. Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh is making his Tamil debut in the film as an antagonist.
