The Tata Chemicals on Wednesday reported a net profit of Rs.146 crore for April-June, 2015-16 compared to Rs.169.53 crore for the like period last year -- a 12 percent (Rs.20.53 crore) decline on a quarter-on-quarter basis.
According to the standalone audited financial results for the quarter, ended June 30, 2015, Tata Chemicals' income from operations rose to Rs.2,327.71 crore in Q1 2015-16 from Rs.2,113.74 crore in Q1 2014-15, a rise of Rs.213.97 crore at the rate of 10.12 percent.
In the quarter under review, the total expenses also grew from Rs.1,880.57 crore from the year ago quarter to Rs.2,128.76 crore, an increase of Rs.248.19 crore at 13.19 percent.
Earnings per share declined to Rs.5.73 in Q1 2015-16 from Rs.6.65 of the last quarter.
Net profit also declined in the Quarter as per consolidated unaudited financial results announced by the Tata Group company. Net profit dipped from Rs.232.77 crore in Q1 2014-15 to Rs.207.25 crore in Q1 2015-16, a fall of Rs.25.52 crore at 10.9 percent.
According to the consolidated unaudited quarterly financial results for Q1 2015-16, total income from operations rose by Rs.216.64 crore from Rs.3,850.27 crore in Q1 2014-15, total income from operations grew to Rs.4,066.91 crore at the rate of 5.6 percent.
Total expenses also shot up, according to the consolidated unaudited results, from Rs.3,452.90 crore in Q1 2015-16 compared to Rs.3,452.90 crore in the last quarter.
Similar is the case with earning per share which fell from Rs.6.89 in Q1 2014-15 to Rs.6.01 in the first quarter of the current fiscal.
On a consolidated basis in Q1 of fiscal 2015-16, Inorganic Chemicals segment clocked a revenue of Rs.2,077 core, Fertilisers Rs.1,286.55 crore, Other Agri inputs Rs.616.36 crore and Others Rs.103.75 crore.
Some of Tata Chemicals famous products are Tata Salt, i-Shakti pulses and Tata Swach water purifier under living essentials and Soda ash, Allied chemicals, industrial salt, Sodium bicarbonate and Tata Shudh cement under industry essentials among others.
The company has manufacturing facilities in India, Britain, the US and Kenya along with a supply chain capability to offer products around the Globe.
