Telangana CM holds talks with Singapore police chief

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao met Singapore's top officials and discussed security and surveillance systems in Singapore.

The chief minister, who is currently on a visit to Singapore, held talks with Singapore police commissioner and other officials on security and surveillance.

The delegation led by Rao learnt the efficient ways of controlling and preventing the crime and traffic management and the various methods of surveillance, said a statement from the chief minister's office here Friday.

The delegation included Finance Minister Etela Rajender, and chief minister's Principal Secretary Narsing Rao.

The meeting with Singapore's police chief is part of Telangana government's plans to improve policing in Hyderabad to international standards.

KCR, as the chief minister is popularly known, recently stated that 3,000 surveillance cameras will be installed in Hyderabad to bring every inch of the city under surveillance.

The chief minister is on a visit to Singapore at the invitation of Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Alumni Association. He is scheduled to address IIM Alumni Association conference Friday.

He will meet Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and other dignitaries.

On his first foreign visit after taking over as the chief minister, KCR during last two days visited few companies in Singapore and met industrialists and Non-Resident Indians to invite investments in Telangana.

He is also studying the industrial policy of Singapore before finalizing the new industrial policy of Telangana.

KCR will travel by road from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur to get a glimpse of the rapid infrastructure development on the route.

He will also hold talks with top officials in Malaysian and seek their suggestions to make Hyderabad a slum-free city.
