Vatican City, March 9 (IANS/AKI) Little caring gestures make us feel that God is at hand and allow us mercy, said Pope Francis on Wednesday.
"Small gestures of love, of tenderness, of care, make people feel that the Lord is with us. This is how the door of mercy opens," he wrote in a tweet.
Francis has declared a Jubilee Year of Mercy that runs until November 30, during which Catholics worldwide are encouraged to renew their relationship with God and seek forgiveness for their sins, according to a 700-year-old tradition.
The pope's @Pontifex account on Twitter is published in nine languages and has more than 22 million followers.
