A gang of vehicle tyre thieves has been busted with the arrest of three persons, including an Uber cab driver, police said on Friday.
Mohit Kumar, 22, Satender Kumar, 30, and Shailesh Kumar Yadav, 32, are residents of Delhi's New Ashok Nagar, Trilokpuri and Noida's Bakhtawarpur (in Uttar Pradesh) respectively.
Satender Kumar works as a driver and used to run his personal car. Shailesh Kumar Yadav is a driver associated with cab aggregator Uber, while Mohit Kumar runs a tyre puncture shop.
"On Thursday night, Satender Kumar and Shailesh Kumar Yadav were waiting at Dharamshila Hospital (in Delhi's Ashok Nagar area) to sell the stolen tyres when they were arrested," Deputy Commissioner of Police Omvir Singh said.
"During interrogation, they told police that they stole tyres and used to supply them to Mohit Kumar in Noida who would sell these tyres to transporters."
"Police later arrested Mohit Kumar from his puncture shop."
