Poor visibility due to dense fog in the national capital affected several trains' arrival and departure on Thursday morning, a senior railway official said.
"Two trains were rescheduled and three were cancelled while departure of 24 others delayed due to the dense fog in Delhi and other parts of Northern India," an official of the Northern Railways told IANS.
Visibility on Thursday morning slumped below 200 metres.
The minimum temperature on Thursday morning was recorded at 7.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average, said MeT office, adding it was a foggy morning.
"There was dense fog in the morning. The sky would be clear throughout the day," an official of the India Meteorological Department said.
The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 19.2 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average, the official said.
According to the weather office, the humidity at 8.30 a.m. was recorded 97 per cent.
Wednesday's maximum temperature settled at 20.4 degrees Celsius, one notch below the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 6.5 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average.
