The death toll from a collapsed building in Nairobi due to heavy rains rose to 26 on Wednesday.
A National Disaster Management Unit official said three more bodies were pulled out on Tuesday night, Xinhua news agency reported.
"Nine rabbits were also rescued alive from the debris and one was found dead. So far 136 people have been rescued, 26 confirmed dead and 93 are still missing," the official said.
The building, according to residents, was built on a waterway, blocking the passage of water. This could have weakened its structure, leading to its collapse after heavy rains and flooding last week.
