Actor Tom Hardy has been cast to play self-proclaimed American terrorist Mark Stroman in a film adaptation of Anand Giridharadas book "The True American: Murder and Mercy in Texas".
"The True American" will be directed by filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow and will centre on character Stroman, reports contactmusic.com.
Stroman was executed in 2011 after he was found guilty of murdering two immigrants and shooting Bangladesh Air Force veteran Rais Bhuiyan in the head days after the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York.
Megan Ellison, who produced "Zero Dark Thirty", will reunite with Bigelow to produce the film.
