Top industrialists, CEOs of various companies and representatives of industry bodies will be among 2,500 delegates attending the launch of the new industrial policy of Telangana here on June 12.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday reviewed the arrangements for the launch of Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-certification System (TS-iPASS), claimed to be the first policy of its kind by any state in the country.

The state government is making elaborate arrangements to make the event a grand affair.

It has invited business leaders, heads of public sector undertakings and representatives from industry bodies for the event to be held at Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC).

The state assembly has already passed a bill giving legal backing to TS-iPASS, which will give the right to investors to get clearance for their projects in two weeks.

The government will be liable for penal action if it fails to respond within the time-frame to applications made for setting up industries.

KCR, as the chief minister is popularly known, directed the officials to ensure that the online applications are received the moment the new policy is launched. He will also launch a website with all the details and guidelines under TS-iPASS.

Stating that this will be a real single window without grills, KCR said all the permissions and approvals for the projects will be granted in two weeks. There will be a chasing cell in the chief minister's office to monitor the entire process of approvals.

The chief minister said the state has 1.60 lakh acres of land ready for setting up industries. He promised 24x7 electricity supply, water, other infrastructure and plug-n-play facilities for industry.
