Top runners for Bengaluru Marathon

The country's leading long-distance runners like Karan Singh, Sudha Singh and Kavita Raut will be among some 10,000 competitors participating in the Shriram Properties-sponsored Bengaluru Marathon to be run here Sunday monrning.

Besides the full marathon which has attracted over 1,500 entries, there will be half-marathon and a 5kms charity run, according to the event's brand ambassador and former international long jumper Reeth Abraham.

The winners, both men and women, in the Elite category will receive Rs. 2 lakh each from a total pool of Rs. 45 lakh.

Meanwhile, a pre-event Expo has been organised Saturday when former Olympic champion Haile Gebrselassie will distribute bibs to athletes while also interacting with them.
