A Tripura doctor was arrested here for "accidental" firing at a students' hostel in the heart of the capital city, police said Sunday. No one was injured.
Gynaecologist A.K. Roy fired thrice at the hostel from his revolver Saturday night, police said.
"Roy fired three rounds from his .35 revolver. However, no one was hurt," officer-in-charge of West Kotwali police station Milan Datta told IANS.
Police have seized the doctor's revolver and a sports rifle as he had violated the conditions of the arms licence.
"Though Roy has claimed that the firing was accidental, it might have killed someone in the hostel where about a hundred students are lodged," he said.
