Trump's Twitter handle proclaims him 45th US President

Donald J. Trump's twitter handle @realDonaldTrump proclaimed him as the 45th President of the United States of America, minutes after his inauguration here on Friday.

The verified handle, which has been used liberally by Trump to attack those he perceives as hostile to him, has over 20 million followers, and he has posted over 34,000 tweets.

The handle posted a tweet in the morning ahead of his inauguration "It all begins today! I will see you at 11:00 A.M. for the swearing-in. THE MOVEMENT CONTINUES - THE WORK BEGINS!".

It remained silent for five hours during which Trump and his family participated in the formal events leading to his inauguration.

Then the Twitter handle went alive again after his inauguration, with tweets about his maiden speech.

"January 20th 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again."

"What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people.

"We will follow two simple rules: BUY AMERICAN & HIRE AMERICAN!

#InaugurationDay #MAGA".

The tweets gave links to his Facebook page, where he posted: "To Americans: You will never be ignored again. Your voice, your hopes and your dreams will define our American destiny. Your courage and goodness and love will forever guide us along the way.

Together we will make America strong again. We will make America wealthy again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again - and yes, together, WE WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
