Wrestler-turned-actor Danish Akhtar, who will be seen playing the role of Hanuman in popular mythological show "Siya Ke Ram", says he never thought of acting in his life and it's like a dream for him. He is now "excited" to start shooting for the show.

"I never thought that I would end up coming in this field. Everything feels like a dream. Nikhil Sinha (director of the show) saw one of my wrestling matches and that's when he discovered me and discussed his excitement about taking me on board," Danish said in a statement.

"It was his vision that convinced me to try out for this role. I have been working on my acting skills since the last three months and reading up on the character to be able to portray it in the desired way. I am really excited and can't wait to begin shooting," he added.

Danish says playing Hanuman is special for him as he is his "one of the most lovable characters in Ramayan".

"The makers have taken more than three months to lock the final look of Hanuman and have also done a detailed study on how the character will shape up. From the jewellery to the 'Gada', the makers have made special alteration to get the right look," he said.

"Siya Ke Ram", aired on Star Plus, is a unique representation of Ramayana from Sita's perspective.

Pallavi Pradhan to become Veeru of 'Sholay'

Actress Pallavi Pradhan, who is currently playing Surili in the TV show "Bahu Humari Rajni_kant", will next be seen imitating veteran actor Dharmendra's role of Veeru from the 1975 classic film "Sholay", on the show.

It so happens that during the wedding of Shaan (Karan V Grover) and Rajni (Ridhima Pandit) on the show, Surili drinks bhaang, gets drunk and stands on the roof of the terrace and threatens the guests and family members at the wedding that she would jump off.

"In the scene, I accidentally drink bhaang which is not meant for me and perform a scene out of my favourite movie of all time, 'Sholay'. Just like Veeru threatens to jump off, I too call out for 'gaonwalo' and threaten them to jump off the terrace," Pallavi said in a statement.

"It is the first time I performed a stunt and was harnessed, that too in a saree. But it was so much fun performing the stunt and enacting a scene out of my favourite movie," she added.

"Bahu Humari Rajni_kant" is aired on Life OK.
