Two held with 1.4 kg gold at Bagdogra airport

Two people were held Sunday and 1.4 kg gold worth over Rs.40 lakh seized from them at Bagdogra airport in West Bengal's Darjeeling district, customs officials said.

Indian nationals Mohammad Khurshid and Ahmed Zahir were detained by custom officials after they alighted from a Bangkok-bound Druk Air flight.

"Upon search, gold biscuits weighing 1.4 kilo were seized from them," a custom official said.
