Two soldiers were injured on Saturday when they fought a gun battle with terrorists trying to sneak into Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistan, a military official said.
The incident took place on the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district, the official said.
"A group of militants tried to sneak into this side but were challenged by our alert jawans, triggering a gunfight at Kupaa Gali in Kupwara," the official told IANS.
Two personnel of 21 Rashtriya Rifles were injured and taken to a hospital, he added.
The winding LoC divides Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan. Islamabad holds the northern third of the state while New Delhi controls the southern two-third.
