Two civilians were killed and 16 others injured in a roadside bomb blast that damaged two vehicles in Afghanistan's southern Uruzgan province on Tuesday, a spokesman for the provincial government said.
"A mine planted by militants struck two vehicles at the same time on a road in Jambarak Kotal of Deh Rawad district at around 1 p.m., killing two civilians on the spot and injuring 16 others," Dost Mohammad Nayab, the spokesman, told Xinhua news agency.
Women and children were also among the victims, the spokesman said.
He also blamed the Taliban militants for orchestrating the bloody attack.
