Actresses Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson will reprise their roles as Beca Mitchell and Patricia "Fat Amy" in upcoming musical comedy film "Pitch Perfect 3".
The film will release on July 21, 2017, Universal Pictures has announced.
"Pitch Perfect 2", which released on May 15, grossed $260 million worldwide in one month. Kendrick celebrated the news on Instagram on Monday.
Kay Cannon, who wrote the first two instalments, is in talks to write the third film. It's unclear whether Banks will return to the director's chair, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
The original film was adapted from Mickey Rapkin's book "Pitch Perfect: The Quest for Collegiate A Cappella Glory". The sequel was directed by Banks and starred Kendrick, Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Ester Dean, Hana Mae Lee, Alexis Knapp and Banks.
"Pitch Perfect 3" is the second title dated for July 21, 2017. Fox has an untitled cartoon set from DreamWorks and Blue Sky on that date.
