Two people were killed Friday in an explosion in Assam's Sivasagar district, police said.
The explosion took place at businessman Biren Agarwala's house in Sepon around 8.30 a.m., police said, adding that family member Situ Kumar Agarwala and his driver Dimbeswar Bhuyan were killed on the spot.
"The locals said they heard an explosion but no one has seen anyone around the place after the incident," said a senior police official.
The Agarwalas had received an extortion demand from the United Liberation Front of Asom (Ulfa) which they had refused, police said.
