Grief and anger replaced gaiety when two people were killed in celebratory fire during a marriage ceremony in Bihar's Aurangabad district, police said Tuesday.
Chandan Kumar, 35, and Vishwajeet Singh, 22, were killed late Monday night, when a bullet fired from a pistol hit them during 'tilak', a marriage ceremony, at Ramraj Nagar, about 15O km from here.
The bullet pierced through the head of Singh and hit Kumar in his chest, police said. No arrest has been yet made in the incident.
"The tragedy took place when some people reportedly opened fire to celebrate the occasion," Ajay Narayan Yadav, a district police official said.
A case was lodged in this connection and the police has started a probe to identify the main culprit.
Such incidents of celebratory fire is very common during marriage functions in Bihar.
