Two people, including one CRPF official, were killed and five others injured after a constable opened fire at his colleague in Assam's Nalbari district on Friday, a top security official said.

"One CRPF sub-inspector was killed after the constable fired at him following an altercation over some issue," said Inspector General of Police (Law and Order), Assam, S.N.Singh.

A supporter of All Assam Students' Union, agitating near the CRPF camp, was also accidentally hit in the shooting and died. He was a Class 9 student.

Three other Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers and two other student agitators were also left wounded in the incident.
