At least two Indian Army soldiers were killed and three wounded on Saturday when militants attacked a military vehicle on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in Kulgam district.
According to defence sources, two soldiers who sustained critical injuries succumbed later. The other injured have been airlifted to Srinagar for treatment.
The convoy was heading to Srinagar from Jammu when the incident occurred in Hillar area.
Following the attack the 300-km long strategic highway has been closed for vehicular moment.
Similar attacks were carried out earlier this year too, wherein three soldiers were killed in Shopian.
