Dubai, Nov 15 (IANS/WAM) United Arab Emirates' (UAE) Minister of Labour Saqr Ghobash has announced his ministry will implement a strategic plan on national labour from 2014 to 2016, which will give priority to Emirati workforce, hone skills and streamline stability at the labour market.

The new labour policies will require efficient human resources, effective institutions and regulations, as well as concerted efforts to elevate the UAE reputation worldwide in this respect.

Ghobash made the remarks Thursday in a meeting held by the ministry at Intercontinental Festival City hotel here to demonstrate its new strategy and discuss it with partners in the public and private sectors as well as representatives of the media.

The minister said the meeting comes in line with the efforts to develop partnership with the public institutions to ensure good implementation of the strategy in cooperation with the private sector.

Ghabosh noted that the new labour strategy is a "roadmap to regulate the labour market in the next three years" in a way that matches the federal government strategy and the UAE Vision 2021.

He referred to the Abshar initiative launched by UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, noting that it has sensitised the national human resources to join the labour market.
